PSY is a star who has enjoyed big popularity with his friendly image and a concept that can easily appeal to the public. “Gangnam Style” went beyond Korea to gain a global reputation, with its comic and easy-to-follow dance. PSY’s unique friendliness and character have contributed to his worldwide success.
PSY is now releasing a new album three years and five months after the release of his sixth album including “Gangnam Style” on July 15, 2012. Plus, he is coming back in Korea two years and eight months after the release of “Gentleman” on April 12, 2013.
PSY has set outstanding records so far. “Gangnam Style” took the second place on Billboard singles charts for seven consecutive weeks and surpassed 2,443,300,000 views on YouTube, recording an unprecedented hit on the global stage as a Korean song,to be included in the Guinness Book. “Gentleman” also created sensation on the global pop music market, taking the fifth place on the Billboard singles chart and recording 889,000,000 views on YouTube.
As PSY has set outstanding records that are still on everyone’s lips, the news of PSY’s new album is enough to catch the eyes of music fans from in and out of the country. They are now paying keen attention to what kind of new records will be written by PSY this time, after his long-time absence from the music scene.
PSY has been working hard on the new album for a long time. As YG’s head producer YANG HYUN SUK hinted on PSY’s comeback in the first half of this year, fans’ expectations for PSY’s comeback have grown bigger and bigger.
