[스타뉴스=길혜성 기자] 2NE1’s leader CL’s debut in the United States is indeed imminent.
According to personnel of CL, she is travelling back and forth from the US to Korea to get ready for the debut album with other American artists. She has now completed the process, and only has music video filming left.
Star News confirmed that CL will be filming a total of 2 music videos in Korea and the States. Through the music video, she is putting an end to the preparation for the American solo debut album.
So her debut in the country will highly likely be as early as September, or at least in Autumn. CL has been devoting her energy in the American album, and her effort was the reason for the delay in the release.
YG Entertainment’s head YANG HYUN SUK commented that he has a “good feeling” for CL’s debut in the States, heightening the expectation.
CL is working with Scooter Braun, who made PSY’s debut in America a huge success. She signed the contract with his label SB PROJECTS and has been collaborating with him to gear up for American debut.
CL’s entrance to the American market is already spotlighted by foreign media like Billboard and the Guardian. Last July, the Guardian wrote about “Doctor Pepper,” a song of collaboration among DJ Diplo, RifRaf, OG Maco and CL through “The Playlist” session that recommends good music around the world. It wrote that South Korea’s most popular girl group 2NE1’s CL will go hand in hand with Scooter Braun, who is the manager of Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande to make a debut in the second half of this year.
