After getting some experience in a webdrama, Winner’s Nam Tae Hyun is headed towards terrestrial broadcast.
On June 4, YG Entertainment announced that Nam Tae Hyun has recently been cast in SBS’ new drama Midnight Diner (translated). This will be his first time acting in a drama airing through a terrestrial broadcast station.
Nam Tae Hyun debuted in 2014 as a member of Winner. He recently acted in MBC every1’s webdrama,Girl of Midnight, which ended on May 14. He will be acting as Min Woo in Midnight Diner.
Midnight Diner is about a restaurant that opens from midnight to 7AM and the stories of the people who come hungry.
“While searching for someone to express the character of Min Woo, Winner’s Nam Tae Hyun came in to our eyes,” said an affiliate of Midnight Diner. “He doesn’t have a lot of acting experience and is a rookie, but we’re anticipating that he’ll show his own ‘Min Woo’ well.”
Midnight Diner will be co-written by Choi Dae Woon, who worked on Gag Concert, Radio Star, and more, and Hong Yoon Hee, who previously worked on Gag Concert. The drama will be directed by Hwang In Roe, who led Palace, Return of Ilimae, Love Again and more.
Other actors confirmed for the drama include Kim Seung Woo, Choi Jae Sung, Jung Han Heon, and more. The drama is set to air at the end of June.
