[NEWS] Masta Wu Joins Epik High For June 13th Concert In New York City


On May 13, Epik High officially announced the addition of YG Entertainment’s Masta Wu for their June 13 show at Best Buy Theater.  Masta Wu will bring 15 years as a producer and rapper to the stage for a special performance. In addition to his own releases, he has worked with 2NE1 on the track “Gotta Be U” and Hi Suhyun’s retro revival song “I’m Different.”

Masta Wu released his first album, “Masta Peace” in 2003. He has appeared on numerous YG Entertainment projects including the iconic YMGA mini album. In 2014, his talents as a hip-hop artist were showcased during “Show Me The Money 3,” where he appeared alongside Epik High’s Tablo. He followed the success of his judging appearance with his release, “Come Here.” “Come Here” was a club-banger which featured “Show Me The Money 3” champion Bobby and illionaire records’ star Dok2.

In March 2015, the legendary Korean hip-hop trio were the headliners of K-Pop Night Out at South by Southwest (SXSW). Epik High’s Tablo, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz received international attention following their successful 2014 release “Shoebox” which featured the hit track “Born Hater.”

Epik High will kick off their North American tour with their May 28 performance at The Warfield Theater in San Francisco. The 10 performance tour includes stops in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, New York and Ontario.

On June 12, Epik High will perform before a sold out crowd at Best Buy Theater before delivering their show on June 13 with Masta Wu.
