[동아닷컴=홍세영 기자] The Chinese version of “Father” by world star PSY topped China’s QQ Music MV weekly chart.
On March 26 PSY showcased the Chinese version of his track on QQ Music, the largest music site in China. In just one day it topped the QQ Trend Index chart, and also took the top spot in the MV weekly chart unveiled on April 3 (the first week of April, from March 25-April 2).
It is especially meaningful as PSY’s music video of “Father” seized the victory against China’s top artists like Wang Leehom and HuXia, who released new songs.
The music video of the local version features the sacrifices of fathers for their family in cartoon, and it attracted 1.02 million views as of April 3.
It also ranked #1 on QQ Music K-Pop Weekly Chart. Since it was unveiled on March 26, it already hit 6.71 million views on April 1.
PSY, with the amazing start, will continue on the heat in the region by releasing singles like “Paradise,” “The End” and “What Would Have Been.”
